Varies greatly on experience and job sector. Oil and gas makes over 80,000 with a masters degree. I know people making close to 200,000 but they have over 10 years experience. Environmental will give you 30-60,000 with a bachelors degree. Bottom line is you can be very poor or very rich as a geologist depending on what you want to do with your degree. In North America, a good geologist with more than 10 years experience working for a mining or oil company can expect to make between $100,000 and $200,000 per year.  Geologists working for government or environmental companies would make a little less, but they have arguably better working conditions.
