  1. Go with Big Bird.  The dude talks like a champ and sleeps in a big nest at night.

  2. Most birds that are able to speak at a level you can hear can also scream beyond what you want them to. Cockatiels are known to be great first birds but if you have allergies they have a powdery down that is awful for allergies and asthma. Whatever you get make sure it is from a breeder who has hand fed them, they are much easier to tame than one that has been parent raised. Check out Youtube.com for videos owners have made of various breeds. My personal preference is parrotlets, they are easier on the ears than most parrots, but just as smart and fun. They also come in a wide range of color mutations. I have three, a boy is more vocal and is said to talk more. Their voices are really hard to make out though but they are small and sweet, big eaters but small mess makers too. I take back the small mess makers they can get in their seed bowls if open and throw it all over just like other parrots, but their poops are small:)

  3. i would get a female cockatiel, they are nice and quiet and they are great "first birds" they can be living and tame easily  check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/cockatiels.... for some good tiel info

  4. i love my cockatiels. they are very cute and loving. they learn very quickly, but need attention. they dont really talk, but they whistle. you can teach them a lot of differnet whistles, they learn fast. and if you talk to them, keep saying the same thing over and over & in the same tone. they will learn to whistle it and it will sound like they are talking. its pretty neat. to keep them quiet at night cover their cage with a blanket, but put a small night light near it, they are scared of the dark lol :] hope that helps

  5. Parrotlets! (My avatar is a picture of one.) They are very small birds, 5 or 6 inches, and are pretty quiet. They are a lot like big parrots, since they can learn to talk and are somewhat stubborn. Just show them who's boss, and they'll calm down! Just look them up online and you will find good info on them.

    P.S.- i'm getting a male pacific parrotlet!

  6. well you cant really control when its noisy and when its not, thats up to the bird.

but if youre a beginer i would suggest a cockateil, parakeet, or love bird, i dont think the latter one talks, but its a pretty bird

  7. Well no bird should make noise at night

when birds make noise at night it means

there is a problem with the location of the

cage or the bird has a problem.

and when you talk about a small talking parrot

there is a lot of them, but i personally like the

quaker parrot (monk parakeet) the have a good

talking ability and they go from $150 to $300

for the green ones and up to $700 for the mutations

but they,re still noisy during the morning and when the sun goes down,

any parrot get noisy at this times thats normal.

there is a lot of different parrots and prices

and you need to research a lot b4 buying one

look at the different breeds and then go from there,

www.birdbreeders.com this is a good to go look at pics

and after you find the parrot that you like research as much as you can about it, and make sure it fits your life stile.

    good luck.

  8. Get a cockatiel. They can talk. But they are not noisey at night
