Actually anybody who says get a mac is retarded. Not that mac is bad, but they limit the hardware in them and charge too much. Basically when you buy a mac you are just buying OSX which stupid Apple should just license out anyway.

Also OSX can easily get viruses but nobody targets them because they only have about 8% of the user base. In order to prevent all viruses, an operating system would have to have no access to any devices or functions, which would prevent the OS from even writing to a HDD.

Go to http://www.tomshardware.com and look at their recommendations, then build a computer or have somebody close by build it for a little extra. My friend builds my computer for a $100 premium and takes care of maintenance.

I agree Alienware has gone downhill after dell bought them...

To be quite honest any pc that is "name brand" you are really just paying for the name not the quality...(this is especially the case with apple....there computers are not as fast as the basic pc yet they go for twice as much....) the hp dv6000 laptop is good for doing basic computing and is good for the older crowd who does not need to game or do graphic design.... Mac at best is a joke...the type of joke that you say over and over again you actually start to think it is funny and good. Mac claim to fame is being "virus free"...if you fun any 64 bit system (vista 64 bit) you will never really have to worry about viruses....

hp is not my fav company but they make nice laptops for basic computing...to be quite honest to get a nice pc without the building work (it is ridiculously easy to build a pc by the way and they cost half as much and are twice as powerful..) just go on cyberpowerpc.com and compare the quality of those pc to "name brand" pc's....the laptops are beast and they basically have twice as much as the other "name brand" pc...they are about the same price too...

Apple. Of course. See an apple (with an intel processor) can run mac osx and also windows xp or vista! so its really the only computer youd ever need! More so, OS X cannot get viruses or spyware, or any of that sort. Hp's that run windows as their main os, are extremely open to these sort of bugs. Mac all the way!

Whatever you do, do NOT buy Alienware. Don't listen to the guys that say you should. Alienware used to be good until dell bought them out. Now they are just like any premium computer. You are paying 500 to 1000 dollars for a name.

Apple is better than HP, but also much more expensive.
