In Britain, the little debate that we have, is about whether 'hard multiculturalism', (i.e. the idea that culture is everything and must be respected almost at any costs, particularly any "minority culture") is actually a good thing for the whole of the country. Some people say that it is. Other claim that it is a divisive concept that, far from uniting us, pitches community against community and encourages a victimhood mentality.
