What is the definition of globalization?

I need the definition in a kids version.

The simplest way to define it is the bringing together of economies and societies around the world.  It's an attempt toward peaceful coexistence.  One example could be the introduction of the Euro.  Since so many European countries have the same currency now, it's so much easier to travel through Europe and spend your money!  It unifies people.    A common language could be a good goal for globalization.  It's a way for people to work together as one.
