Hmm.. If you go a little back in history or to the time of inception of man kind... I'll say it should have been an 'Apple'. If eve had not eaten that apple then probably they would have not been sent to the world and no courting : )

But, some how cherries and strawberries are considered to be fruits of love and in the ancient Greek times it was probably grapes... But honestly speaking, I have no idea's why these fruits are linked to love.

May be they are sweet or at one time they were rare and considered to be a delicacy or fruits for the rich and wealthy.
