  1. Hi Jet aircraft use a fuel called JET 1

and propelor aircraft use a fuel called AVGAS

  2. Turbine powered aircraft (including jets, turboprops, and many helicopters) use jet fuel. It is a heavy fuel like kerosene. Jet A is the heavy grade and Jet A1 is heavy grade with an antiice additive and is the most common. Jet B is a wide cut grade (kerosene mixed with gasoline) and is used mostly in helicopters.

Methanol is only used mixed with water for boosting power of some turbine engines.

  4. Jet Fuel...It Burns MUCH HOTTER than regular fuel...don't try to use it in your car...you'll blow up!

  5. Which airplane?? It depends on engine and fuel delivery system!

Jets use 2 different types of jet fuel - which are more consistency of Kerosene, or #1 fuel oil! Piston powered ones use 120 octane,100 octane, 90 octane,- some certified to use "car gas" - regular and 90 octane-- these usually fly below 12,000 feet altitude because some where above that,- fuel can begin to vaporize and possibly vapor lock engine-fuel system. Car fuel is formulated different than aviation fuel!  The aviation fuel is also more expensive because of this!

Of course uncommon variations exist,- as some "Experimental" and "Ultra light" aircraft use "2 cycle engines" which may have different fuel mixes, as well as using oil in fuel for lubrication of engine!

And then space shuttles qualify as "aircraft" (at times)- and they run on rocket propellant! This is a whole different spectrum of mixtures and chemicals!

  6. Propeller driven airplanes that have gasoline engines use aviation gas which is higher octane rating than passenger cars use. ( above 100 octane )and currently costs about $5.50 to $6.00 a gal.

Jets use, obviously, jet fuel which is high grade kerosene.

  7. white petrol is the fuel used in most of the aircrafts
