  2. As far as I'm aware, it goes like this:

    Follow,follow we will follow Rangers.

Everywhere, anywhere, we will follow on.

There's no' a team like the Glasgow Rangers,

No not one, no not one

Celtic knows all about out troubles,

We will fight 'till the day is done.

There's no' a team like the Glasgow Rangers.

No not one, no not one.

It celebrates kicking Celtic butt, obviously.

  3. 450 pints of beer at 5 quid a pint in mancho!

  4. Dn't know, Don't care please tell me coz i'm just

    dyyyyyyyyying to know.

  5. ERRAS  explanation above is what have understood the sentiment's behind it Billy was also thee prominent Loyalist of his day in Scotland

is that so marko you`ll have historical knowledge of that fact will you,,you`ll also know that The Fields of Athenry was a song stolen from the 36th Ulster division and adapted for the rebel cause

  6. The term 'Billy Boys' is usually assumed to refer to "King Billy" (William III of Orange), but has its origins in the 1920s, as the signature tune of a Protestant street gang led by Fullerton during a time of upsurge in gang membership and violent crime in Glasgow. The "Billy Boys" often had fights with Catholic gangs such as the "Norman Conks". Fullerton was a former member of the British Fascists, and was awarded a medal for strike-breaking during the 1926 General Strike.[5]

The song's geographic roots relate to Bridgeton Cross in Bridgeton, an area of Glasgow historically associated with the city's Protestant population, and with Scottish unionism. "Brigton" is the old Scots form of Bridgeton. "Fenian" in the context of this song is understood by some to refer to Irish republicans, and by others to all Irish Roman Catholics—the BBC website describes it as an "anti-Roman Catholic song".[6] The highly controversial song remains popular among loyalists today particularly with some supporters of Rangers.

Billy Boys is the title of a book on the history of Orangeism in Scotland.[7] It is also the title of a painting by Jack Vettriano, although in this case the painting has no obvious connection with the song or loyalism

  7. I thought Tina Turner sang it, huh ,so she has changed the words? lol

Hey have you noticed , since you all joined here, well I have noticed in myself, I dont ask anyone I know in real life conversations any more 'hey , who was it..why is it ...mind that song who sings it etc?' blah de blah that I would have done pre Y.A.? I just sit like a  pure plum here and search!

You could have asked any Rangers fan this to their face and they would have been quite happy to explain it, this place is bad for ye as we are not asking anyone 'stuff' there is a real danger that real life trivia and chatting at bus stops will end! I fear I will be coming here to ask 'do ye know when the next bus is due?' and stuff!

  8. the song is about Billy Fullarton, leader of the Billy Boys gang from Brigton, who fought against catholic gangs.

The Brigton Derry boys were a younger division of the gang (mentioned later in the song).

    Hello, Hello

    We are the Billy boys

    Hello, Hello

You'll know us by our noise

Were up to our knees in fenian blood,

    Surrender of you'll die!

For we are the Brigton Derry Boys

The song was specifically banned from being sung at Ibrox and around Scotland in a bid to stamp out on sectarian hatred.  Many other teams sing their own adapted version of it.

  9. the song billy boys has nothin whatsoever to do with some gang leader called billy, its an old orange order song sung about being boys under the wing of king william prince of orange. the rangers version hello hello is just an adapted version.

  10. BB There is truth to that, also it means welcome, welcome as if to say if youre one of them you are welcome.

    late 50s to present

  11. Don't listen to the rest on here, the song is in fact about Billy Boy Buffties and what they do to each other as it always starts with a hello and finishes with a visit to the bum doctor,so you watch yourself when getting a hello from a Gers fan, three month off your work on the sick is not funny(is it Biker) you have been warned.

  12. the song you're referring to probably isn't the billy boys.

that's banned at ibrox and,i should think, most other grounds.singing it will get you chucked out.

it's possibly the blue flag which is :

    hello,hello.how do you do ?

we are the boys in royal blue

    where'er we go,where'er we stay

we'll keep the blue flag flying high.

both rangers and celtic football clubs have worked very hard to kick out the nastier stuff as has the irish football association in belfast in relation to the northern ireland team.
