  1. The 'e' stands for 'electronic.'  This means instead of having a ticket mailed to you after you purchase it online, you can simply print it out directly from the website where you purchased it.  It's a good way to get your ticket(s) immediately and save on postage costs.

  2. Actually, depending on your age, there are two answers. One version of the e-ticket is an electronic version of a standard ticket (most theme parks use this system now, as well as major airlines, rental car agencies, etc.)

The other E-ticket is in reference to a popular ride or experience, usually a thrill-type roller coaster. WARNING: HISTORY LESSON: Originally, Disneyland issued ticket books for the rides within the Magic Kingdom. These books had tickets ranging in value from A to D, and later E. A tickets were for the small children rides (carousel), while the E tickets were for the more popular and adult-type rides. The last official E-Ticket ride created for Disneyland was Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road (1979), when Disney discontinued the books in favor of general admission passes in 1981.

Today E-Ticket still refers to a thrilling, exciting ride or adventure.

  3. An e-ticket is a ticket for a specific event such as concerts.
