What is this illness?

When someone is shaking, very cold, half paralyzed and can barely speak, then later in the day, collapses and then rushed to hospital. What could of happened?

That could really be a number of things, far too little information to tell. Yes, it could have been a stroke, but more likely a high fever perhaps. Your body produces a higher fever than normal in order to fight off infection, the heat will kill it-but it may reek havoc on your body as well. The person felt cold and was shaking to warm up the body maybe. A person can collapse for a number of reasons, fainting, a seizure, etc. I hope this person is ok.
