something about too many hands in something.. meaning the person has too much going on? I can't think of it.. I was thinking too many hands in the cookie jar and that doesnt sound right. then I thought too many hands in the pie.. but who puts their hands in pie.. lol I've been racking by brain over this! please help!

I haven't heard one specifically about hands, except "Many hands make light work"; That saying means that the task may be large, but if you have many people working on it, the task is lighter to all the individuals.  It's about many helping one another lighten the load for everyone, not "too much going on."

    Too many irons in the fire - means too many tasks going on for any one of them to get the attention it needs.

    Similarly, too much on your plate to chew means too much going on.
