What is with the announcers?

They just said that the Pens need to win tonight. We didn't NEED to. It helped obviously. But if we did lose, we wouldn't be out. All night they have been saying we needed to win this.I don't get it.

I'm not mentioning the how some people think they were biased. I honestly didn't notice it being one way or the other.

i would disagree, the penguins did need to win. coming back from a 3-0 deficit would be nearly impossible, as it has never been done before.

If the Pens lost at home and went down 3-0 to a team as good as Detroit they would likely be swept. Instead of playing with desperation they would likely be playing defeated. They needed to win tonight, also they needed to win 4 of 5 to win the Cup. That is hard enough but to try to win 4 of 4 and 2 HAVE to be on the road(now it would be 1 if they can do it) against the Red Wings. The Red Wings would need a major breakdown to have that happen to them. That isn't likely.

Hey Jeff you forgot the 75 Islanders who did it to the Penguins. 33 years apart and it has been 33 years, didn't you hear that enough on ESPN during the Conference Finals series lol.

I agree with Steelernation. If the Pens had lost tonight, I believe that the Wings would have swept the series. I admit I was skeptical when this game began but I think with the lack-lustre, barely-breathing showing in the first two games, they really needed, if for confidence alone, to get this one in the bag.

For some of you people who don't know, I still don't know, haha. I think CBC lost the NHL Hockey on their stations because their announcers are one sided... they are the worst band wagen jumpers in history if you think about it. When Dallas got hot it was them them them. Then when they lost to Detroit they started criticizing them... and out of know where it was Detroit Detroit Detroit. It really pains me to know how low the announcers can get. I mean, if you listen to them while game play goes on you can tell who they cheer for because they get more excited or add extra vocals on the HITS THE POST or SCORES!!!!!!!. I was going to write in and say something. Its bad, my family is die hard hockey fans and we all cheer for different teams. YET we all notice how they can get so one sided it almost seems mean. They didn't say much about how hot Crosby was when he got those 2 goals. YET Frenzen is their god almighty or something. I don't know what bugs me more bad reffing or bad announcers... all I can say is Thank God TSN is taking over their not afraid to say when its bad reffing and **** like that.

In order for them to win the series, they needed to win this. only one team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the finals, that being the 42 leafs.

The pens needed to win that game to keep any hope they might have had alive.

They did need to win.  3-0 is almost impossible against a team like Detroit.  good game, now they just have to win Saturday.

If the Penguins lost tonight the series would be over 100% FOR SURE. It was a MUST WIN situation for the Penguins, to argue otherwise is simply not to understand how a series plays out.

The announcers were correct, the Penguins needed to win tonight.  Only 2 or 3 teams have managed to come back from being down 3-0 in any playoff series and win.  Detroit is far too good of a team for Pittsburgh to come back against after being in that kind of hole.
