What is wrong with my comp?

its running slow, its really new, ive had it under 3 weeks

its a compaq presario f700 with vista

how do i make it run fast again?

Have you loaded anything on your laptop since you got it? It could be that your laptop doesn't have enough RAM to run this new program. Vista in and of itself is a resource hog so when you add other programs to your computer, you have to have sufficient RAM or you'll notice sluggishness.

Also it could even be some spyware is loaded causing it to slow down.

You said your system is new but did you buy it used? It could be that you need to defrag or clear your internet cache.

Was it ever fast? if yes, its probably tired of running that fast & saving energy so that it lasts longer..

On a serious note, what anti virus are you running & what do you have for anti spyware. Run a scan after updating Windows, Anti Virus & anti Spyware.. see if that helps

Disable the Themes (Visual Themes). Use Classic one, something like The Classic Visual Theme in XP.
