What is your definition of femininity?

Question

Is it always having your hair & nails done, wearing makeup & jewelry, cute shoes, speaking softly, using your hands while you speak, going shopping, going to "cultured" events like the ballet or the museum?

Can you change your oil, change a tire, lift heavy things, like the outdoors, & stereotypically "male-oriented" activities?

What is your definition of femininity & how do you fall into it on a scale of 1-5? Opinions are appreciated.

From a man's perspective, feminity is fulfilling the two E's: empathy (understanding and entering into another's feelings), and empowering (mutual growth by helping each other). This brings feminity beyond s*x. As an INTP, I don't do any of these things, but there are biological males that do use these.

i would consider me a farm girl! chnge tires, oil, greece things, change stuff on my dads macheinery! THE FUN STUFF!! but i ♥ shopping with my dear life! AND  my hair! and earings! aka my jewlrey!. but i ODNT mind getting really greecy also!

I agree with ryan - femininity is a state of being, so is masculinity and both males and females can display both of these qualities.  Appearance is simply a cultural construct that changes over time.

Being able to handle any situation with grace.It's not the clothes,make-up or jewelry.It'a the very core of what a woman offer's to her society.To nuture,understand and help make the world a softer,secure and happy place for anyone they are in contact with.Having respect for males as a balance to themselves.And changing a tire helps.Being helpful not helpless.I'm a one.

or occupy your time, more about

specific traits deemed more prominent in women like being supportive rather than active or passive rather than aggressive.

I think straight females and homosexual males possess these qualities to a higher level then L*****n women and straight guys.

excellent description. dont be ashamed to be feminine. feminine is also being mom, house wife and catering to a mans needs. Letting man take charge and guide you. An let man provide and protect you. I love ethiopian s**y submissive woman with smooth black skin

Femininity (not to be confused with feminism) is gracefulness.
