What kind of laptop?

Hey guyzz..

I want to buy a laptop for college and honestly, I know NOTHING about laptops.

I know that if I ask someone in the store, they will lie about the performance of their product.

So I decided to ask on yahoo answer.

What kind of laptop is the best acording to your personal experience (By exemple... sony, dell...). I want to know if there is a kind I must avoid too.

I don't want to pay too much... maybe 700$. ( I am not looking for something too hightech tho).

If you have any advice, I am open to hear them.

Well, Sony first of all is about 1000 for a laptop.

Then, Dell is good but I'd go for an HP, I found one yesterday online for $450. You should go check that out.

I have one and it works great. When you go to college, take all the disks that comes with it as you might need them.

i'd had both hp & compaq and never experienced problems with either ! however, i'd have many friends who have had a LOT of problems with dells. i would never recommend a dell. one of my friends has a sony and absolutely loves it. i love my compaq :)
