I mean if prostitution is illegal, then how is it like the bunny ranch can run a w***e house legally?

Depends on the state you live in. Prostitution is legal in the state of Nevada. It depends on your local politicians and what they want. Gambling is also big in Nevada but don't get caught with pot in your pocket because the penalties are steep!
