What materials are in a Light Emitting Diode? I'm trying to think of one that starts with a 'P'. It's something like palamraies, but I can't remember what it's called.

  1. The only thing that comes close to what you are referring to is phosphide.

    Various phosphides are used to produce different colors in some of the most common LEDs.  Some of the newest type LEDs however, do not use phosphides.
