I'm having a small dinner party and I happen to have 4 bottles of expensive Merlot I'd like to share. What kind of meat should I serve?

  1. steak or any beef dish

    red wine = beef

    white wine = fish, chicken

  2. beef or Italian food

  3. Lamb is one of the best but also beef. Think red meat when paring merlot, but definitely don't limit yourself to this category. Pork also does well with a merlot especially a crown roast of pork.

    Rack of Lamb

    Leg of Lamb

    Lamb Loins

    Beef Prime Rib

    Beef Rib-eye Steaks

    Beef Tenderloin or Fillet Mignon

Pork Crown Roast (This is a fully frenched pork prime rib tied in a circular fashion, very impressive visually)

  4. I would have to recommend a nice Filet.  A Cab is much better with it, but Merlot will work great.

  5. Steak

  6. Pork,Turkey,and Pasta dishes.

    Substitutes: Cabernet Sauvignon or Bordeaux

  7. Is there any better cut of meat than Filet Mignon? No sense wasting expensive wine on cheap meat!

  8. Personally I think pasta goes great with merlot. However if it were a sauvingon I'd say beef. But I'm vegetarian and don't eat beef therefore pastas w/red savory sauces also work. Pasta is great =] I'm not convincing you am I =] Oh well suit yourself.
