  1. St Augustine (Stenotaphrum secundatum) grass is very tolerant right up to but not next to the shore.

Grasses like the Bahia (Paspalum notatum) grasses are  tolerant to some salt exposure in irrigation water.

Bahia salinity tolerance is good up to 4,500 ppm NaCl but 9,000-27,000 ppm NaCl reduces photosynthesis and transpiration but does not kill the grass.

Zoysia genus is tolerant also up to about 32000 ppm.

Alkali dropseed (Sporobolus airoides) is extremely tolerant up to 600 mM NaCl while Zoysia japonica is injured at 200 mM NaCl.

Bouteloua are the Gramma grass genus that are more sensitive to saline injury than the Zoysia or Bermuda (Cynodon) grasses.

    As a percentage 0.1% = 1000 ppm or 1% = 10,000 ppm

  2. That depends on te grass itself.  Check out www.plantstress.com, perhaps it will give you guidance.

  3. It depends on the species of grass, some tolerate grass better than others.  Contact your states agriculture extention agency they would have a list what already works in your area or how to correct any problems in your soil.
