What pop colour would you use?

My fiance and I are getting an apartment in Boston at the end of the month and the majority of the living room furniture we have is black, white, and wood (like Oak- http://www.withknobson.com/acatalog/oak_swatch_LARGE.jpg) laminate. I may paint the wood (it's laminate and the desk is scratched up anyway). Still, with those colours, what would you think would be the best accent colour? Red? Apple green? Something else?

I think red would work well too, and I really like the turqoise idea.

I think a red or deep plum would have a wow effect, the thing with red is is is sooo overdone, but it is foolproof, how about a bright turquoise blue ?

i think reds and light yellows.  when you move into your new appartment, you can paint one wall white or beige to match the wood and another a light pop color - could be cool.  here is a similar color combination to yours with pop colors:

i think neon orange would really make it POP!  but i like the red, apple green, turqouise, and plum ideas too.  also yellow may look great.
