Question:

What school should I choose?

I was accepted to Hawaii Pacific Univeristy for grad school. I planned on going this January, but my first choice has always been Howard University. I didn't apply because I thought they didn't have the major I wanted.

Anyway, I can either go to Hawaii in January, or I can apply to Howard now and not get accepted/rejected until March or April. If I do that, I'll have to forfeit my spot in Hawaii...so it's a risk.

Either go to the school I've already been accepted to, or apply to the school I really want to, and risk not going to any school at all.

Plus, my mother has some friends who went to Howard, so they could put in some good words for me...and one of my professors met a Dean there, and she said she'd recommend me.....but it's still a risk........I don't know.....

  1. it's not risk

be sure that only some feelings will go

    just listen to the recommendation

    good luck

  2. take it from me do whats best for your future and you should no what that is

  3. Go to Howard University - you can't go wrong and with Alumni ties and frat ties you are bound to be successful.

Write Hawaii a letter explaining that something came up, family issues or something and ask if you can postpone your entrance until the next semester.

Or Go ahead and start at Hawaii make sure yo take classes that will transfer to Howard - If you get in you can transfer - If you have a scholarship for HPU then by all means complete your graduate studies there.

    Good luck kiddo

  4. Hmmmmmmmm that's a tough decision.  Do you think your chances of getting into Howard are great? If so, I say go for it.  Its such a prestigious HBCU!!  Congrats on the other acceptance.  Weigh your options and think about your present financial obligations.  If you wait on Howard, then wait.  If you are ready to go ahead and get your Masters degree, then go to Hawaii.  Awesome deal either way.............congrats!!
