What smells/food do mice like?

i have a mouse that snuck into my house and i would like to know what food do they really like so i can set a trap, the ones i have now don't seem to be working.

Peanut Butter is the best bait to put on a mousetrap, that's for sure.

Well you already know that mice and rats like cheese so you can use that. Um if you leave scraps of food or even crumbs rats and mice will be bound to come especially if you already have mice and rats. It's best to look at the obvious to find your solution to your rat problem I bet if you leave crumbs and stuff out the rats will come. You can use that as a trap.

I'm not sure where, but I heard that mice go crazy over peanut butter even more than cheese.

As many of the posters have said - peanut butter!

Here's a suggestion to help make sure the mice trigger the trap. Take a cotton ball and tear it into smaller pieces. I use about 1/4 of a cotton ball. Completely cover/saturate the tiny piece of cotton with peanut butter then stick this onto the trip-lever of the trap. This way, the mice will need to work harder (and keep them from just l*****g the pb off the lever). This will reduce the number of 'bait thefts'.

Agree with the other posters about putting the traps along the walls. It shouldn't take long before you are mouse free.

Use peanut butter for the mouse trap and make sure you put the mouse trap along the sides of walls or the sides of counter tops because that's where they usually run through.

mice really love peanut butter !!!! and  it will simplify the task of placing the mice food on the trap (,if it is a snap type.)because p/b will stick on better and stay on alot longer if you are catching more than one mouse.
