You see everyone knows that when you put an egg in boiling water it hardens, but what I want to know is if there is anything that gets softer as you chill it.

  1. Water is the only substance that loses density as it gets colder. That's why ice cubes float in a glass of water. So, until it becomes an ice cube, water would. Anything filled with air, like a basketball, would become underinflated as the air inside it cooled and took up less area. That's it.

  2. i know the answer, but the question needs to be in the s*x category.  it will be interesting to see all the non s*x answers.

  3. as far as i am aware, there are no substances that exhibit this property.  the means by which objects become liquid,/softer, is the molecules of the substance are active and moving, the warmer they are, the faster they move, and the more fluid they become. if they become hot enough, they become a gas, and then a plasma. the reverse is obvious, the colder they are, the less they move, and if they get cold enough, they effectively move so little that they become a solid.

  4. No.
