If it were me, I'd be happy with either one.  However, BBQ is nice because you can visit while you cook, maybe even eat outside on a beautiful sunny day and hang out as long as you and she want afterward and talk, laugh, etc.  You don't have to get up and leave as soon as the meal is over like at a restaurant.  You can make a whole day of a BBQ :)

The plus side of a restaurant meal is that there's no mess to clean up afterward though.

Hmmm... it depends on what your mom likes. My mom really, really likes good food (she loves to cook) so i would probably take her to a nicer restaurant. Also, she loves to go out. But if your mom doesn't really care and would rather spend time at home, go for the BBQ.

Probably the barbeque.... it shows her that you would work hard for her- even cook for her, for that matter.

well too me i think BBQ. because every year we go to my mom's house and cook out.

i think a barbeque ad its much more special than to take her out as you would of made the stuff from the bbq which im sure your mother would appreciate :)

BBQ seems like the sweeter thing to do, since it's your own sweat that makes it. After all, she sweats over your food sometimes, right?
