Question:

What the point with the roster?

I'm a little miffed at this quandary: What is the point of having a 100+ man roster in college when you only need 22 (plus kicker) to scrimage & practice - I'll even throw in a third string for backup... Whats the point other than to claim to be "on the team"? And do you think when your "6th string", do you think they wash thier, "used uniforms" or do they having them back up in the locker for next time?

  1. You only dress so many for the game...

    Plus, college football has a very high rate of injury...

    You also need more than 22 players...

    You'd want to have backups for everyone, plus you have to accommodate for different formations... You might want 2 TEs on one play and 5 WR the next... You might go with a 4-3 a 3-4 or a 46... You also have to have enough D backs for nickel, dime and quarter formations...
