What to do about maggots?

Question

what can i do about maggots in my garbage can to kill them and to keep them from coming back? i know its nearly impossible but there has to be some way to keep the flies from going in there...

Bleach out your cans at least once a week, and let them dry thoroughly.  Make sure your garbage bags are tight and no tears in them when you toss them in the can.

You are right that they may come back. try to keep the containers bleached out and dry, tie your trash bags very tight. Keep the lid on the can tight.many times I wash or bleach out my food containers/meat wrappers off before i throw them out. this may seem extreme(kind of like Monk, LOL) But I have little or no problems with smell or flies. I live in Georgia with lot's of heat and humidity.I sometimes pour some antibacterial detergent into the trash bags. I experiment lots.... Good Luck....

call an exterminator and they will get rid of them for good for you.they are a real health hazard to live with.
