What to do in Sardinia?

What to do in Sardinia? I'm going to Sardinia for vacation, what can I do? Is it interesting? I'm thinking to rent a car. Is that a good idea? How about beaches?

Rent a car is a very good idea, the travel service in Sardinia is not good. Personally I suggest you the hotel "Su Gologone" (Oliena)http://www.sugologone.it/ There you can find typical sardinian food and near it there are a lot very interesting place, like the spring of Su gologone, a cave of hundreds metres in the center of a little lake with transparent water,(these pics are not much good)http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h... and the  cave of Ispinigoli with the taller and bigger stallattite in europe.http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

you have to go the beaches! I suggest you to buy a guide of beaches: you can find it in Sardinia..I don't know where exactly you will go, and I can't suggest something more.

There is tons of tourist info on the web.  Just settle down and enjoy the slow pace.  Rent a moped for a day to do some exploring.

For starters you can visit the best beaches in Europe  to get an idea visit http://www.my-italy-piedmont-marche-and-... . Renting a car is a great idea - especially as you can then explore the interior of the island. Great scenery and interesting little villages and towns.
