  1. There is always something to do in London and it really depends on your own personall taste and your budget.  I've lived in several countries and find London the best place for culture and diversity.

If I were you I'd start early and go to Soho and sit in a coffee shop on Old Compton Street and watch the area come to life over a coffee and a pastry.  It's great to watch all the people coming to life and those who are still partying from the night before.

After coffee, I'd walk down Charing Cross Road and visit the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery.  See everything from Hogarth through to Van Gogh.  An amzing gallery and evrything is free!!

After this I'd catch the tube to Westminster and take a boat ride up the river towards Greenwich passing the Tower of London, Tate Modern, and Tower Bridge to name just a few, taking a guied tour it makes the journey more interesting and you get to know some interesting facts too.

Arrive in Greenwich and see the Maritime Museum and go to the Park and see GMT and the Royal Observatory.  Enjoy some lunch and and take the tube back to central London to save time.

Once back get off the tube at say Leicester Square and head for a few cocktails.... soho is my usual choice and then go and see a play or a west end show.  Afterwards, get some dinner maybe in China Town or even head off to Berterolli's in Covent Garden or Soho.  Finish the night with a walk accross Hungerford foot bridge to see the city by night.

After this your either tired or a party animal!

  2. Take a day trip to brighton beach using the trains (cost about 10 pounds), or take a day trip to Stone Henge/Oxford/Salisbury/Canterbury or any other small towns, very nice and cool little villages.

  3. You can go visit Madame Tussuad's, and see all moviestars and celebs (in wax), it's actually really fun as long as you're not alone and have a camera with you :P   - or you can go shopping, with a friend - that is usually more fun - well it is for me.. and you can try a bunch of weird and cool outfits together that you normally never would try on, or bought, and then take some really fun pictures of that....

  4. have you tried a ghost walk?

you can go to a gig at night and keep yourself busy shopping all day!

  5. harrods? hamleys?

    go shopping or clubbing

  6. Have you done all of the zillions of museums?

I presume that in etc. you include things like the Tower, and all the most famous museums, but what of all the little ones?  There must be tons!

Try searching London, and look for the stuff at the bottoms of pages.  All the obvious stuff is at the top, but as you get to the bottoms, there´s lesser known things.

Go to a bookstore and pick up a DK book on London (you don´t have to buy it, just look through it while sitting at the café) and see what it suggests.

  7. I know they sound boring but museums are free and they aren't bad!

South Kensington has Natural History Museum that's quite good!

    Or hampton court palace

Have you been on a sight seeing bus tour they are good but expensive!(well i think so)

    Have Fun!!

  8. just relax with your family

  9. Try this website for ideas:

    www.visitlondon.com.

There are numerous exhibitions at galleries and musuems and there are numerous shows to see in the West End - the TKTS booth in Leicester Square sells cheap tickets for that day's shows - see www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/tkts.

    Hope that helps. Have fun
