What to do...what to do?....

I am a mom of 5, I run a home daycare, too and usually my days are FILLED (except for the 2 and a half to three hours the kids nap durig the day).

Right now all five of my children are at my moms house for a week and I closed my daycare for this week. My husband is deployed until Thanksgiving, so I am in this house alone and it is so quiet. I really can't remember when I heard this much...pecefulness! :-)

I plan on dinner tonight with some freinds and shopping tomorrow with other friends. Other than that, I don't really know what else to do for a whole week.

What do you do when you get the chance?

  1. Get a massage!

Also, grab some books or magazines and catch up on reading or watch some movies.

  2. Sleep!  Hang out with friends, pamper yourself.  Just sit there and enjoy the quietness!

    Have fun! :)

  3. well my kids are all older so it's easy for me to get things done and all when they are home but when they do all go off for the day I hate to say it but I usuaully take the time to clean out closets and organize the house. Clean out their drawers of clothes that don't fit, etc...

How about getting your hair done or nails? Relaxing with a few good movies from blockbuster?

  4. I would probably split my time between getting things done like cleaning out closets and then have recreational time for reading, shopping, eating, etc.

I would defintely sleep in every single day!

  5. Sleep, scrap book, go on a leisure walk, sit up with a glass of wine and a good book (in the evening), go shopping for shoes or clothes, bake some cookies, plant a mini garden, spend time in the Word of God, take a bubble bath and light candles around the tub like a spa.  Those are just a couple suggestions.  :)  You deserve a break!  Get a Hershey bar and watch a favorite movie too.   Have a day at the spa with some girlfriends.  Give your husband our thanks for his service and I thank you as well for being a strong military wife.

  6. Get my hair done. Get a manicure and pedicure. Go to a store that has a makeup dept and let them do your makeup (you can schedule an appt at Kohl's for free). Take yourself to the movies...or rent a bunch of chick flicks that you normally don't get to watch.

  7. I dunno, maybe I'm a loser.  I'd spring clean my house.  I love the idea of cleaning at my own speed, with (my choice of) music in the background, without all the constant interruptions.

I'd also make at least one trip to Walmart.  So seldom an opportunity to go alone.

I'd cook some lasagnes, and casseroles and freeze them, so we can eat in style on weeknights for the next few weeks.

And when my husband came home, we'd make love with the bedroom door open!!  Woo hoo!  So Wild and Crazy.

  8. Sounds to me like you're already off to a good start. You are lucky to have this time to yourself. Take a look at your home inside and out and see if there are things that need organizing like closets, kids rooms, your room, paperwork and bills.  Unless you are extremely organized and can stay on top of all the many things that need to be done around the house, you might also want to bring peace and order to your living environment. Get up in the morning and take a long walk, pamper yourself with a relaxing bubble bath, a good book or magazine, and maybe even light some candles. Your life is at full speed all the time, use this time to enjoy the tranquility and clear your mind so you can gear up for your "real" life.
