What to do with website?

Question

I have a website with a catchy domain name. The only thing I have done to increase visits is add it to google and yahoo. I started it in January this year and so far I have had 430 unique visits. I thought this was ok seeing as though I haven't done any SEO or anything like that. What do you think I should do with it now. I want something to do with jewellry. I don't want to sell anything but use affiliate links to generate money. I have put some on the website but a website with just links and banners isn't too great. So what could I do?

I think you should start adding content to your website.

Let's face it, people won't buy advertising from an empty website with weak marketing strategies, right? I don't think you would buy any ads on a stagnant website too.

Identify what your website is about and start writing the content so that the search engine and people will come to your website over and over again.

You can write those articles yourself if you want to.

You can also hire professional article writers with SEO knowledge to write them for you.

Content is key!  Well, that and finding a niche.  If your already getting that much traffic you should invest in that domain name.  Make it into the best web site you possibly can.  There are hundreds of great blogs online that will tell you how to do just that.

Also, list it with web directories.  Any and all of them  The more backlinks you can get the better.  I just listed with a new one called onefreelink.com.  My blog is at the top of the page because there was no one else in that category.  This website is really new so I don't expect much traffic from them but I want all of the backlinks I can get my hands on.

I think you could create a really great investment if you develop your website more.

Utilize web 2.0 services.  There are a lot of social media websites that exist that are a great outlet for promoting your website.  As you promote your website on these other sites you'll not only see an increase in website traffic, but it will help with search engine rankings as well.  If you message me I'd be more than willing to explain this in more detail for free.
