What to talk to strangers about?

there's this guy i see constantly but id like to get to know him more but i just dont know how to approach him and talk to him.

AND what do i do if he rejects me "uh, why the h**l r u talking to me?"

try asking the time of him first then say how you like his "shoes" i dunno something you see about him that isn't creepy and then introduce yourself in a friendly manner and go from there.

Okay guys are NOT that mean (and if they are you shouldn't be talking to them anyway... you should kick them in the balls). They're not going to bite your head off if you try to talk to them, only girls will (that's why guys have it worst). But try not to think about it to much if you do attempt to talk to him. Be cool, calm, and collected. BE CONFIDENT! If you're confident and your conversation is natural it should be fine  

Though personally it has always been my motto to let the guy come to me first, giving him hints (bait him!) with looks and smiles.

But usually in a classroom situation I start with very easy stuff like homework and class work... gives the appearance like you're not interested. And in the hall... anything might be awkward... so ummm Good Luck!
