What unpops ears after airline flights?

My ears won't unpop after my flight, and I've tried everything, including yawning, swallowing, showering, and drinking water. Help!

  1. Chewing gum always works for me. I begin chewing it before take off and chew another piece after we land. Chewing moves your jaw which changes the pressure in your inner ear.


  2. holding your nose is usually a little bit painful. but if you want to go slower, chewing gum always works for me.

  3. Pinch your nostrils closed and try blowing like you are blowing your nose, but just let the pressure build up instead of letting the air out.  Don't do it violently, just a bit of pressure ought to do it.
