What was this battle called?

i'm writing a report about the revolutionary war and i need to know what was the battle when the British marched back to Charleston but the Concord farmers got the redcoats by surprise and won. thanks (:

  1. Because the American Minutemen had no real leaders and it wasn't fought as a battle, it was considered an illegal assault on the crown. Most people simply call it the Shot Heard Around the World. Since they Marched back to Boston, I'm not at all sure if you are talking about the return march from Lexington and Concord. It is most commonly called the Battle of Lexington and Americans consider it a victory.

I assume you mean that the British (or Regulars at that time, because we were all British) marched back to Boston  (after the Battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19th, 1775).  If so, it was called "The Battle of Lexington and Concord" and "Battle Road" was the bloody retreat.  An incident called the "Bloody Angle" held the "Battle Road" title for quite some time.
