What was up with Norm MacDonald?

Question

Anyone that watched The Roast of Bob Saget, what was wrong with Norm? I couldn't tell if he was drunk or if he didn't write those jokes he had. Anyone know?

He bombed on purpose. He is the best, funniest and cleverest comedian ever. LONG LIVE NORM!

I thought that same thing, he said "H" instead of h**l!!!!

I thought he seemed like a born again Christian or something since he didn't curse or anything. Then I thought maybe he was on meds, like the time tyson was on meds in that one fight were he lost.

I was sorely disappointed in him.  I couldn't believe he was reading the newspaper and also how he read off the index cards! It seemed like he didn't even try to remember the jokes... it was horrible and to think i was actually looking forward to his stand up.  

They also mentioned his gambling... so I am wondering if he went to Gambling Anonymous or like I mentioned before, he found the lord.

It almost seemed like he really didnt want to do the show but someone made him, and he was being pissy about it and sucking on purpose....with reading the paper and all, and then his half-assed (h**l, quarter-assed) jokes.

I thought he was building up to something, since he was doing really clean jokes and not cursing...I thought he was going to do a twist and turn it around about how Saget's such a dirty comic, but no.

Some people thought he was doing it ironically, like it was supposed to be funny how unfunny he was, but it didnt come off that way really, he needed to do a real joke at the end to show it if that was what he was going for....
