What would be the better vacation?

Question

Cruise or a trip to the mountains??? Or is there somehwere else that would be better??? Just an FYI this is the USA... and disney is not an option... I have been there to many times... i live in FL.

Cruise. Thats probably personal bias though. Theres just nothing like being out on open water.

It depends on what you are in the mood for,  I cruise alot and also go up to the mountains alot.  A cruise is usually a more relaxing vacation as you tend to spend alot of time lounging around the pool and you don't have to worry about dinners or anything.  On a cruise, although you have a few days in ports, the ship itself is like a resort.  In the mountains, your hotel is just your home base and you spend most of your time out doing something.

trip to the mountains would be better in my opinion. but it is more labor, hiking, driving and just scenic pleasure.

a cruise is Ok. they tend to be long and boring after a while.

I think cruising is the best way to vacation. You don't have to worry about renting a car, finding a hotel and meals are included in the price. You can control what you spend because most of everything is paid before you get on the ship. You also get to go to multiple locations for that one price. There is also entertainment on the ship that does not cost extra. If you have never cruised before, you should definitely try it.

depends what u like and how old u are.

I went on a cruise at 16 around the Med. Soooo boring - if i was 50 im sure it would have been great!

Definitely get up in the mountains.

Cruises can be dreadfully boring. You don't get to spend enough time in the places you stop off at, and in the mean time you're trapped on a boat and it can be very frustrating.

Plus, if you're from Florida a couple of weeks away from air conditioning will do you good :o)

This land is your land, my land, an expensive land, so keeping the money in the USA is Number One, you know?

That siad, a cruise run by an American company, great.  Do you like the idea of just relaxing, with no need to manage an itenirary, etc.?

Would being boat-bound dirve you nuts, like me- I need to be able to drive home whenever I say so, just because.

Touring the countryside is beautiful- especially here in the Carskills. I grew up on Long Island, so the trees changing are nothing new-

but the majesty of the mountains (OK, hills, hee-hee), and the gorgeous rainbow of colors!

Montana was barren in comparison, but the archaelogical cave sites of former "natives" of America (they transmigrated, too) were very interesting in a park near Billings.

Yosemite, Grand Canyon, geez, there's like, a ton of natural beauties here at home!
