  2. Some NHS ambulances are a Mercedes Sprinter chassis with a 2.2 ltr turbo diesel engine with a custom body.

  3. in America they have Oxygen tanks, suction equipment, AED's( Automated external defibrillator), Cardiac Compression Equipment, Most of the panels on the walls ( in the back of the unit where the patient goes) controll all the various internal and external lights, air or heat. Inside numerous compartments are various medical supplies such as airway devices, splinting supplies, childbirth supplies, basic wound care. There is patient transfer equipment, the stretcher, backboards with straps, C-Collars. There are radios, to contact Medic Control to receive  medical direction or to advise hospital of patient status and arrival, or request back up assistance for multiple causalities or, Med Vac helicopter for major emergencies. Radios are located in the front and back of the ambulance. Of course in the front is where the control panel for the lights and sirens is located. All the engines of the ambulances I have worked on have been diesel. Hope this helps.
