Im all in favour of his Classy shots as it brings new things to the game. BUT he has to tone down a bit for test cricket

  1. yup ! im agree with u.... i share with u my perception about him that ..........i dont know y pieterson not come out from his ego... he think himself god of cricket... i think hes not capable to share famous and respect.. but hes good player

  2. I dunno what KooKee and that other guy are rambling on about, this is such a simple question!

The answer is Kevin Pietersen was playing a game called cricket. Might I add, Ian Bell also plays this sport and is fantastic at it.

I hope this vital piece of information helps :)

  3. Expansive with the bat and explosive with the bombast, the South African-born Kevin Pietersen is not one for the quiet life. Pietersen, an enthusiastic, bold-minded and big-hitting No 5, first ruffled feathers by shunning South Africa - he was disenchanted with the quota system - in favour of England; his eligibility coming courtesy of an English mother. He never doubted he would play for England: he has self-confidence in spades but, fortunately, he has sackfuls of talent too. Sure enough, as soon as he qualified in September 2004, he was invited to tour Zimbabwe for that winter's one-dayers, where he averaged 104 in three innings. Success here earned him a late call into England's team against none other than South Africa in early 2005. Undeterred by hostile receptions from the home crowds, he announced his arrival - loudly, of course - with three centuries in five innings, and in doing so demonstrated his peerless eye for the ball and for making headlines, too. On reaching his maiden ton in the second ODI at Bloemfontein, he kissed his badge with unreserved fervour and afterwards announced his next ambition: getting a tattoo of three lions and his England number. Playing at Test level was next on the Pietersen to-do list, and, as a man who puts his money, if not always his mind, where his mouth is, it was only a matter of time. Overlooked for two Tests against Bangladesh, he made his debut against Australia at Lord's of all places, and responded with a pair of hard-hitting fifties in a losing cause. Six dropped catches in the series appeared to have dented his brash confidence, but with the series at stake, he once again showed his unswerving eye for the limelight by clubbing a phenomenal 158 on the final day at The Oval, to secure the draw that England needed for a first Ashes triumph in 18 years. First to congratulate him on his feat was Shane Warne, his good friend and captain at Hampshire, whom Pietersen had joined at the start of the season after three eventful and fractious years at Nottinghamshire. Unsurprisingly, that innings proved hard to live up to, but astonishingly Pietersen managed it, clubbing two more big hundreds in his next two Test innings in England, the second of which - against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston - included a remarkable reverse-sweep for six off Muttiah Muralitharan. In Australia the following winter, he once again lived up to his reputation with hard-earned runs, but his tour ended in disappointment when he flew home with a fractured rib, courtesy of Glenn McGrath after the first match of the CB Series. While England's World Cup was a miserable failure for the team it was a personal success for Pietersen who hit two centuries - including his first ODI ton in a winning cause against West Indies - and confirmed his role as England's leading batsman. His dominance continued against West Indies with a majestic 226 at Headingley - finally beating his previous 158, a score he had made three times previously. It was the highest score by an England batsman since Graham Gooch's 333, and his march towards greatness continued. But then followed the inevitable dip - 10 innings without so much as a fifty - before he bounced back with an uncharacteristically backs-to-wall 129 in England's third Test against New Zealand in Napier.

  4. I agree with Newfy! lol

  5. i can smell testosterone being thrown about here abit !!

    lols aloud

EDIT thanks for laughing with me :  Jake G it always ceases  to amaze me how entertaining the cricket section is ,,theres been some gems the last couple of days lol!

    .

  6. Disagree, he has to play his natrual game.

This is a classic case of Mark Waugh syndrome. When ever he played his shots everyone sung his praises and carried on about what a swush bulking innings he just played, BUT on the occasions when he got out playing his shots everyone would say he threw his wicket away and lacked concentration. No guts, no glory. You cant sucseed if you dont take risks, thats what cricket is all about, and thats what the game lacks. I definatly know what style if cricket I wanna see.

I for one hope KP keeps playing his shots and this brand of cricket. Lets hear the critics bark next time he knocks a ton.

  7. Exactly, Test cricket is a totally different ball game.

As far as i can see, he was acting like big guns as if he had been disappointed at the performance of his peers and wanted to end it once and for all. Kevin is a good player, i respect him very much but childish attitude is something that needs to be taken care of if he wants to retain his position in a test squad.

  8. the situation England were in yesterday required a blend of of patience and balls out aggression, Pietersen got the aggression side right but not the patience, thats just the way he is, as an England fan I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

  9. Pietersen NOT Peiterson!

The field was open, and Steyn (and Kallis) bowled a couple of bad deliviries!. First of all Steyn bowled a half volley on leg-stump that just needed a tickle to be hit for 4! Then Steyn bowled a half-volley which was also a no-ball, so that had every right to be hit!, THEN Kallis bowled another wide delivery which again was hit safely into a huge gap onto the off-side.

With the open field, and poor deliviries, Pietersen had every right to try and make the most of the poor bowling. Stuart Broad hit a run a ball 67 so, it looks like the best way to go was to try and take the fight back to South Africa. If its there to hit, and there's no fielder covering the gap, then why not?

Pietersen's S/R is a respectable 62 (Not 75ish), he's not too agressive. He made his slowest ever test 100 recently (vs NZ) Pietersen can adapt to any situation, i remember against NZ KP hit 40 off 130 balls, to try and stick in and give England some fight.

The fact is England rely on Pietersen far too much, in nearly every innings we play we expect Pietersen to "Save" us. Pietersen made the most out of the opportunities to score!

I cant excuse him for the way he got out though!, he should have left that ball, or just played a solid defence, he was caught in 2 minds, and in the end he neither played a defence or leave!

EDIT- Ok Scotty i got that wrong but answer me this

If KP is an overrated tw*t, how come he has scored more runs than Sachin did at the same stage of his career AND has a higher average, and more 100's etc!! Tell me that? Pietersen has only played 40 games! he is going to improve! and yet he averages 50 now!

Oh yeah Sehwag only averages 50 cos of the 2 300's he scored on dead pitches!! YAWN! anyone can score 100's on dead pitches in the sub-continent! Pietersen is a great player! who out-shone! Tendulkar last time India toured England!

Can you reply to any of that? or am i right?

EDIT AGAIN (LAST EDIT)- First of all i was right KP scored more runs, made more 100's etc etc! than Tendulkar at the same time.

It must have been pretty embarrassing for India to lose to a "c**p" team in the recent ODI series over in England then? very very humiliating

lmao! none of your points make sense! so what? Sehwag can score 200's on flat pitches??? KP hit a 226 btw! get your facts right! and doesnt KP average about the same (or more) than Tendulkar against Aus, certainly more than Sehwag and any other Indian player!

EDIT- Sehwag averages 52 because he plays mostly on flat pitches! I'm not denying he's not a good player, he was a reason why India turned the tour around against Australia! You have to admit that he can struggle at times on pitches that are moving, Sehwag doesnt move his feet much and is always a candidate for caught behind the wicket. KP and Sehwag are both world class! KP being the better of the the 2 though!

Last time i saw the facts! KP had the 2nd highest average against Australia.

lmao! you bring Vaughan in for no reason?? Yeah he's batting awfully! but he will come through! Didnt Sehwag go through a tough time in early 2007 and Dravid more recently! everyone goes through tough times!

Scott you have no clue! you keep getting FACTS thrown in your face and you have no answer to them! Your a biased Indian! there's so many around here but your up there with the MOST biased!!

    your just an idiot!

EDIT- LMAO! you got the facts WRONG, here's the facts

    Dravid average vs Australia- 46

    Laxman average vs Australia- 50

    Sehwag average vs Australia- 53

    Pietersen average vs Australia- 53

    Tendulkar average vs Australia- 56

Pietersen averages MORE than your beloved Dravid and Laxman and the same as Sehwag! (He average more than Sehwag before the series 07/08) OMG i was right! and you were wrong lol!

Pietersen OFFICIALLY averages the 2nd most against Australia!

and when did i ever say Vaughan was in the league of Kallis, Dravid etc! now your just making up rubbish! i never said that! Vaughan is a great player! but not one of the best of all time by any means!

Get your facts right next time!

OR i will have to humiliate you again LMAO!

EDIT- THESE ARE ALL FACTS! YOU BIASED LITTLE MAN!!

    * FACT NO.1 PIETERSEN HAS THE 2ND HIGHEST AVERAGE AGAINST AUSTRALIA (MINIMUM 10 GAMES YOU FOOL) are you an idiot! anyone could score a 100 in 1 game against Australia and then not play them again! and have a higher average than Tendulkar, does that mean they are a better player than Tendulkar against Australia

YOU REALLY ARE THE BIGGEST FOOL! *****ng h**l! everytime you try and out-smart me and YOU CAN'T BECAUSE I GIVE FACTS YOU IDIOT!

    * FACT NO.2 PIETERSEN SCORED MORE RUNS, THAN TENDULKAR AT THE SAME STAGES OF THERE CAREER AND MORE 100'S ETC!

YOUR THE ONE MAKING UP FACTS YOU LITTLE WORM!! NONE OF YOUR POINTS HAVE MADE SENSE! THIS IS TOO EASY!

Vaughan is a GREAT player in my eyes! i dont give a sh*t what a little Indian biased boy tells me! Vaughan = LEGEND!

    YOU= BIASED!

    END OF DISCUSSION!

  10. I Really dont know why The commentators and spectators of English cricket, says he is one of the best batsmen in the world, Lol, yeah right.

The man scores a hundred or nothing. He averages 39 away, and is dreadful in the Sub Cotinent. His Technique is questionable at times, and he hasnt got the best of tempraments. moreover he scores about 90% of his runs through the on side, hardly plays through the off side.

He is just very overrated, and some foolish and thick english commentators, say stupid things is Will KP be better than Sachin, lol. What a load of s**+*. Sachin is a team player, and will play to the teams benefit, unlike KP.

KP has this massive ego, and i really dont know why, take a look at Sehwag. He averages 52 in test cricket, moreover he has a strike rate of 76 and he OPENS. Sehwag is better than KP.

    Kp is an overrated Twa*

KOOKEE, KPs Strike rate in test cricket is 62, not 75.

Lol, sachin averaged over 70 runs in the 4 match test series against Australia, with a strike rate of over 66. And When Sachin Started playing, he was 16, and when he was 17, he was scoring centuries in england, and when he was 18 he was scoring centuries in australia.

To be honest india dont really care much about England, as they are c**p.

how many double hundreds ag KP got, none, how many triple hundreds as KP got, none.

You can say the same arguement for Brian Lara, that he only averages 50+ because of his huge scores.

KOOKEE, dont even bother comparing Sehwag to KP, let alone Sachin To KP.

Sehwag Opens, and still averages 52. Kp comes in at 4.

When sachin was at his peak at 1996-2001, he was averaging over 65 in test cricket in that period, and when sachin was 27 his carer average was over 55, with over 22 test centuries.

    Blanked, now talk BITC*

sachin averages 56 against australia, Sehwag averages 53 against australia. Laxman averages 51 against australia. Dravid averages 48 against australia.

Michael Vuaghan has been batting well lately, hasnt he. lol.

KOOKEE, you funny s**+*, you dont have a clue.

EDIT- Let me give you the facts. KP Averages 53 against australia, so i really dont know where you got that made up fact that KP has the 2 highest average against australia. Blanked again.

Moreover KP averages 39 away, and averages a pathetic 31 in the sub cotinent.

Yes Dravid is out of form, like Ponting and Kallis, but yet these three still averaged 40+ in test cricket in the last year. Michael vuaghan on the other hand has averaged 25 in his last 10 test matches, which is about 1 year worth of play.

EDIT-, are you seriously moaning about the fact that i was about 1or 2 runs of the averages of the cricket players against australia. lol. How pathetic.

I think your stupid, made up, facts like, KP has the second highest average against australia, KPs average was more than sachins, when sachin was Kp age. Kp scored more centuries than Sachin, when Sachin was KPs age, these are stupid comments, and are no brainers.

Moreover Michael Vaughan is not a great player by any means. Michael vuaghan has never scored a century in ODIs, and averages about 41-43 in test cricket. To be called a great batsmen, a batsmen has to usually average at least 50.

    Stupid idiot

EDIT- Graham Pollock averages over 60 against australia, sachin averages 56 against australia, ect... So KP hasnt got the 2 highest average against australia, you fool.

KP age 25-28, 2005-2008, average of 50, with 13 centuries.

Sachin age 25-28, 1998-2001, average of over 68, with 13 centuries.

You got blanked again, sachin averages way more than KP at the same age period, with the same amount of centuries, not to mention the other 14 centuries before sachin turned 25. lol.

Moreover India played very little test cricket at home in those days, and plus the pitches were harder to bat on those days, and there were better bowlers in those days that arent playing today, like, Mgrath, Warne, Gillispe, Wasim, Waqour, Mushtaq ect...

  11. u need to have patience in test cricket
