Whats a civilization?

I have a test some point this month. What makes a civilization and can u define what a civilization is? Thank u so much for answering.

Civilization comes from the Latin, 'Civilis' which literally means "city"!

The Neolithic Revolution, within the last 10,000 years, is when cities, farming and the practice of storing food began!

Before that, there is no evidence of any known "civilizations", as nomadic Hunter/Gatherer societies, usually containing between 30-200 members, neither had any need nor motivation to settle down" and build permanent structures, as they continuously had to pursue fresh resources, as their environments would soon become depleted!

Engineering, architecture and sanitation are the bi-products of condensed populations living in cities!

A colony of ants is a civilization in my book.  Like they are organised and they have a system of hierarchy and they have their workers and their breeders and their royalty and they store their food for harder times and they communicate amongst themselves and they build their own little cities underneath the ground.  Termites even have their own air-conditioning figured out.

Actually if I was a School Teacher I would give you extra points for comparing human civilization to Ant civilization.  Hey Ants even have their own defence systems should other ants or whatever threaten them and some ants even have their own little plantations and grow their own mouldy stuff for consumption.
