Whats something hot to invest in.

I was just wondering whats something very good to invest in.

That means not stocks that will go straight down but eventually make progress going up in business.

This is a very broad question.  With the current US economy, interest rates from banks for holding your cash are rather low.  If you are strictly speaking stocks, you have to do a lot of research. No matter what people say, no one knows for sure what's going to perform well and what's not.  Since a lot of stocks are very low right now (compared to what they usually are), you need to pick one(s) that you think will prevail and exceed analyst expectations, have good innovation, and a whole slew of other factors. I would start by researching companies that you are familiar with.  People say Proctor and Gamble and GE are pretty safe stocks, but if you're looking for big jumps, your on your own.  Best of luck.

Solar energy is probably about as hot as it gets.  First Solar, Evergreen Solar are a couple of names.
