    For beef, buy the tips of the ribs ( plat de côte ) to boil them with vegetables ( pot au feu )

    For lamb, cutlets are cheap everywhere - mainly in second range qualities

  8. rolled shoulder of pork is quite cheap and goes a long way.brisket is cheap but you need to pot roast it for it to be tender.as for lamb i buy a shoulder as that is the cheapest to buy.
