    The Oxford English Dictionary (Online database) gives this example of early usage:

    1612 E. GRIMSTONE (title), Mathieu&#039;s Heroyk Life and Deplorable Death of The most Christian King Henry the Fourth

    tracking down the first spoken usage is not possible in this case, but it probably occurred in the early 1600s.
