Whats the right thing to do?

at buffet, when i need to take food for another time, should i take a new plate or can use the used plate. if i use my used plate then where will i keep the knife n fork while leaving the table?

Always use a new plate for every trip. Most resturants have a sing by the buffet saying always use a new plate. I think it is a germ thing.

take a new plate to be on the germ free side and your silverware leave it on the table but make it look like your coming back so the waitress want take it away.

It's illegal to NOT take a fresh plate in many states.  The reason being that you can drop crumbs back into the food, which might be contaminated, making everyone sick.  And you don't have to wash the dishes, so why not?

Put your flatware on your napki, in any case.

Definitely a new plate each time you go to a buffet. Because is more sanitary to do so. I don't want to use the serving spoon that might have touch your dirty plates already. See what I am saying?!

Most (all?) states have a law prohibiting the use of a used plate at a buffet. Nobody wants a dirty plate hanging out near their food!

Grab a clean plate at the buffet and leave your silverware on the table...either on a small dish or on the table. Buffet servers know not to take your silverware, but if they do they will bring you a new set.

You should always use a new plate when you make a trip to the buffet line. Buffet restaurants also usually have signs telling you to use a new plate.

Always use a clean plate, I usually just leave my silverware on the table on my old plate or on a napkin.

If all else fails, ask your server for a new fork.
