Whats this penny worth????

Question

I put 50 cents in this bubblegum machine with old coins in it and got a penny dated 1909....I showed it to my wifes uncle and he said it worth a little bit because it has a "S" under the 1909....Is this penny worth more than just one cent?????????

kind of hard to believe someone would put a 1909-S cent in a 50 cent machine but who knows. There are 2 varieties of 1909-S cents, one has the initials VBD on the reverse at the bottom. that is the rare one value $625.00 and up depending on grade. The other 1909-S but no VDB on the bottom reverse, value here is $90.00 and up depending on grade. Hope this helps.
