ok this is from my point of view. I slice the ball with my backhand and the ball curves to the left I mean CURVES kinda low to the net and then on the bounce it accelerates faster to the left. please whats this shot called and don't say its a slice because a slice doesn't curve to the left while in the air.

  1. It's called side spin. It's created by the way your racket rolls off the ball. You may think you're hitting with a straight backhand slice but in reality your arm and racket contact the ball on a slight angle. This causes the ball to spin more sideways than straight forward or backwards. Same way when you put top-spin on the ball it sinks very fast and explodes towards the player after bouncing. the ball will always "explode" off the bounce in the direction it's spinning.

  2. Its a curving slice!

  3. maybe its a slice with alot of spin on the ball. thers also a shot called a buggy whip shot, it could be that,  im not sure.

  4. Hi: Personally I think you should name this shot whatever you want to name it, especially if you can consistently hit it for a winner or to set up a point.

Technically it could be a....slllice (I know, you don't want to hear it), but a special version of a slice where you somehow imparts some side spin on it.  The direction of the shot can be categorized as an inside out shot.  So if one really want to get technical, we can call it an 'insideout slice' shot...with side spin.

Pretty impressive, best of luck with the shot

[Edit] Roger Federer also has this shot in his arsenal, pretty unusal but effective for him
