  1. Booster or master cylinder could be bad, or you may have a leak in one of the lines.

  2. If you have power brakes...the booster works off vacuum. You may have a loose connection where the hose plugs into booster or you have a hole being worn into the line. Check the metal tubing where the rubber hose hooks in....the bad spot might be there. If you don't find any leaks....your booster might be going out.

  3. You should take the vehicle to a reputable repair facility that does free brake inspections. They will pull all four wheels and check the entire system for leaks. It could be the master cylinder, rubber hoses, steel lines, prop valve, rear wheel cylinders, leaking calipers etc.

  4. Check the master cylinder. Be careful not to spill any brake fluid on your paint. If the fluid is low get some DOT 3 fluid and fill it up. You might have air in the line. If you are not able to bleed the brakes than take it to some mechaic. DON'T take a chance and drive with bad brakes. My brother-in-law was killed 21 years ago because his brakes went out. If he would have asked, anyone of us would have replaced his brakes for free. Your life is worth more than the cost of brakes. GET IT FIXED and good luck.

  5. It sounds to me like your brake fluid reservoir is low on fluid, which usually means it's leaking somewhere.
