Whats with the tanning fad??

Question

why do gurls wanna look as if they have orange or bleached skin??

i mean i have caramel-tanned skin color and im happy with it......

why arent girls happy with the fair skin they have??

I agree. I would rather be pale and look natural than walk around looking like a human orange who is obviously so obsessed with her appearance that she would resort to fake tan!

Because girls are insecure and have to look like everyone else, one hot chick started tanning one day, and they all followed

I don't know it's so weird I don't get it. It looks horrible and fake they turn orange or just gross colours and look disgusting and it makes them age and wrinkle way faster. Everyone I know who does looks like **** and the older ones look 10-20 years older then they actually are. What really annoys me is on the weight loss shows they start off all fat and light with nice skin and then once their skinny they go tanning and actually looked better before it's like their insecure and want to stay not looking good because they don't want attention when they just get more of even more wrong attention. I can't believe all the girls who lay there like a vegtable and tan face down on the beach even some MOMS with their 5 year olds in the water, I would die of boredom.

They are trying to go for the "leather" look. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon enough.

Being tanned is supposed to make you look thinner, maybe that's why.

That and in western culture it's seen as being more attractive - alot of celebrities sport the orange tanned look.

People have been tanning for 80 years.  You may as well ask why women shave their legs.

all guys want athletic women and a tan makes you look like you were doing something outside.

However, I agree with you, I likes the women the way they are.  light skin or dark.  even Brother Malcom X said that he doesnt understand the White Mans obsession with tanning, and that all people should love the color of their natural skin.

i personally dont fake bake or sit outside and tan! the only reason i am tan is because i run track and my skin tans from being outside! i have really bad tan lines too which is why i use jergins natural glow to try to even it out the best i can!
