Whats wrong with my pups eye?

Question

well the vet siad that one of her eyes the eyelid curled in so the hair goes in the eye.. but SUDDENLY the other one has been bothering her! now they are both red, they tear, and she scratches at them and whines =(

what could it be? could they both be curles eyelids?! IDK! HELP

Your dog may be allergic to something i would suggest going to the vet again and ask if your dog has any allergies

It's a condition called entropion, in-turned eye lashes.

It's not a life threatening condition but VERY uncomfortable and can lead to ongoing eye infections.

However it can be cured with fairly simple/ minor surgery.

Do not breed from her and contact her breeder as it's often hereditary.

You definitely need to take her to the vets ASAP as she's clearly in pain, until then bathe her eyes with cold water and apply some eye balm (hatchwells make 1 for animals) to lubricate and sooth the irritation. If you can't get an animal medicine then you can use Brolene, available from the chemist, the cream would be better than the drops.

Yes it can be. That sounds awful. There is a surgery that can be done to correct it

Talk to your vet on price difference. It will be a LOT cheaper to have them both done at once. That way, you are only paying for
