  1. Give the 10 points to Jaffa Rookie!  The Hakkinen Schumacher duel as they went to either side of someone (who???) was SOOO cool.

Though Schumacher blasting past Fisichella in Brazil in his last race - - and doing so with such authority that Fisi "fell off" the track is pretty close.  Never liked Schu that much (always respected him which is different) but had to admire him for that race.

  2. When Raikkonen managed to give the finger with driving gloves on.

Oh and when Montoya was driving for williams, Raikkonen brake tested him and he started shouting 'Raikkonen what a f*cking idiot' down the radio. It was so funny!

  3. The last few laps of the 2000 Japanese GP. As a big time Schumacher fan, it was so, so wonderful to see him FINALLY win that title and the ensuing smacking of the steering-wheel in exaltation showed how chuffed HE was!

I still cry with pride when I watch footage of that race. . like a softie!

To answer an earlier contributor, It was Zonta in the middle of the Hakkinen - Schumacher Spa Ovetaking Sandwich, I always admired Hakkinen but I admired his b@lls ten fold after that!

I've gone back and looked at the footage posted here. Piquet's move and slide on Senna was knicker wetting. Lovely stuff!!!!!!! Makes me glad to love this sport!!

  4. when Lewis Hamilton won in Monte Carlo Grand Prix 2008 .

  5. for me..schumachers last race in f1

the overtake on raikkonen to get 4th

amazing...in a way i preferred he didnt get the title because we got to see what schumacher was made of..what he could do..that others cant

  6. the stupidest and most recent pit lane crash in F1s history because it shows the F1 world they have given a super-license to someone who does not know why there were red lights....

  7. when Damon Hill almost won a race with a Arrows and when he won his last race in the Jordan. Hakkinen's 1998,1999 seasons.

  8. When Micheal Schumacher took out Villenueve in 1997 to attempt to win the championship.

  9. Defiately not a favourite moment, but a very sad and emotional one, showing many sides of human nature, good and bad; the attempt of David Purley to rescue Roger Williamson back in 1973, just seen it on the television, so sad and so brave, purley was given the george medal for his efforts.

The 'reaction' of the marshalls was unforgivable.

  10. Jaffa beat me to it to my favourite move so I'll chose Silverstone 1991. Mansell giving Senna a ride. Always brings a smile to my face when I see that.

  11. Suzuka 2000

  12. 1) European GP '07: the battle between Fernando and Felipe (on track and off track).

    2)Robert Kubica's first victory in Canada '08.

3)Robert Kubica's first pole position in Bahrain '08.

    4)Adrian Sutil's amazing performance in Monaco '08.

5)Not one of my fondest moments but I cannot forget these: Fernando being penalized for "blocking" Felipe in Monza (totally unfair). The disasterous USGP '05 (enough said!). Rubens Barrichello slowing down to allow Michael Schumacher claim victory in Austria.

    6)Felipe Massa's special win in Interlagos '06.

7)Fernando Alonso's victory for the first time in Spain '06.

8)And of course Fernando Alonso winning WDC in '05 and '06.

  13. There are so many that instantly spring to mind I'll just mention a few:

    -Schumacher's win in Hungary 1998.

-Hakkinen coming back from 3 bad races to beat Schumacher in a straight fight at Luxembourg 1998.

-Schumacher finally winning his first championship for Ferrari, Japan 2000.

    -Schumacher overtaking Raikkonen, Brazil 2006.

-The start of the German Grand Prix last year (when it chucked it down half way through the first lap).

And of course Sato overtaking Alonso in Canada last year!

  14. Sorry they are in Portuguese...it's all they have on youtube.

    1. Nelson has the last word in his battle with Mansell

Mansell shows his "class/skill/brilliance/(insert hyperbole of your choice here)" by being so busy waving to the crowd that he stalls his engine on the last lap in Canada in 1991, letting Nelson through for his final GP win. 3m20 on the counter. I gave myself a cramp laughing at this watching it live...

    2. Looping the loop in a jumbo jet

Piquet passing Senna in Hungary in 1986...they don't make them like this any more...

  15. Hamilton's crash on Sunday.Is he blind?.

  16. This is one.

    Last lap, last corner.

    EDIT: Rosbif you're right.

I seem to recall from that race that Berger was very close and coming alongside Mansell as they crossed the finish line on the last lap.

The McLaren was a rocket down that main straight.

  17. Has to be Murray commenting on Ayrton and Nigel at Monaco 1992 on the last lap at the Rascasse... 'can Nigel get past... he CAN'T..'

That or Damon Hill winning the championship in Japan... for Murray again... tearjerking... 'I've got to stop.. coz I've got a lump in my throat..'

I was bawling my eyes out... I was so happy for Damon.. my all-time F1 hero

Actually yeah Damon is my fave moment... I swell with pride even now :)

EDIT: Julian I watched the Euro 99 GP recently on youtube, and the best driver by far that was certainly Ralf Schumacher... he was soooo good... hard to think now lol

  18. When Hakkinen overtook Schumacher, with them both going either side of a back marker

  19. when Kimmi was at Mclaren and wanted to win the race. his tyres was already bald and he was still driving as fast as he could. he out-braked himself and lost the car. his front wheel broke off ruining the suspension on the car and the car got smashed as he hit the tyre barrier. this was at the first corner of a circuit on the very last lap.            lol

  20. 1999 Malaysian GP, Schumi in his comeback drive after the leg fracture. He was spectacular in that race and the final moment when he moved over for Eddie Irvine to take the win.

Of course I dont want to remember the controversies afterwards...

  21. That one race (not Brazil) where Rubens let Michael pass him.  I'll always admire and respect Rubens for his contribution to that team.

  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLWLuXFKS...

European GP 1999 is still my favourite race. A fabulous battle for the lead with Hakkinen and Frenzen, some rain, Minardi running 4th and 5th for a while and Jhonny Herbert winning, never a nicer bloke on an F1 podium.
