Whats your favourite Vampire book?

The Darran Shan books. Because they are quite interesting and you don't know whats coming. And you don't even know that they are vampire books until practically the end of the first one.

But I don't like the fact that there are twelve of them mind!

The Twilight saga. It's my favorite because it defies all preconceived notions of vampires. Stephenie Meyer made her vampires completely different then anyone else. I like this because she gives reasons disproving the myths and explanations for why her vampires are how they are. I also love her books because they have equal parts of all genres. Theres romance, friendship, drama, comedy, everything! Finally, the reason I love her books is because they are long, but go so quickly. You don't even realize it's a four hundred plus page book.

Some people dislike her books because she doesn't stay true to vampire myths and legends, but they're just that. Myths and legends. Vampires don't exist. She can make them her own. Personally I respect her as a writer for doing that. She doesn't just copy myths. She creates unique creatures of her own.

definately definately definately the twilight saga, cause its so romantic and action packed at the same time! i love the contrast (i dont know if thats the right word haha) between Bella and Edward, human and vampire haha!! its the best!!

Twilight because of the characters and the story its soo good but i also like the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith because its so interesting

the Twilight series is actually very enjoyable.  the narrative is easy to read and get absorbed into.

I also like Laurell K. Hamilton Anita Blake, Vampire hunter but she loses the story to sidebar into erotica and I would rather she just stick to the story.  It has a great foundation and can be quiet fascinating with Anita in love with a vampire nightclub owner and a teacher/werewolf.

Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire.  Why?  Well because she presented vampire in an entirely new way.  They interacted with regular society and lived in houses.  Anne Rice practically rewrote vampire lore.

I absolutely love that book.

It has action that keeps you reading.

Good story. Pretty original.

But these vampires do not have huge fangs or anything like that.

My answer is NOT Twilight. That book disappoint me. Hm, I don't recall any other vampire novels that I like. There are certainly mangas but that's all. I've read some in the past that are like on and off.

Brom Stoker is the brilliant author who made vampires beautiful to the world and literature.

If you're talking contemporary literature then I like the Morganville Vampires which are not esp well written but entertaining, (they have traditional vamps) and a interesting read.

And of course, Anne Rice. Fantastic.

Blood and Gold by Anne Rice

Marius is the most interesting vampire in Anne Rice's vampire novels. He has the widest variety of experiences, he is very powerful, and he has a handsome personality.
