Whats your opinion on this name?

Question

I named my second son Chyler. It's supposed to be another form of Kyler. But everyone seems to be calling him Chyler like with the Ch sound. Also some people think it's a girls name.

when i first read it it looked like chyler! um i think the name is unique but it sounds more like a boy!

I would pronounce it with the ch sound as well.  I don't particularly care for it.

When I first read it I pronounced it "Kyler." But that might be due to the fact that my brother's name is Skyler which was originally supposed to be spelled Schyler.

Why don't you spell it Cuyler? That is the original spelling of the name, before the lower class took it over and decided to spell it Kyler. Cuyler is far more professional looking.

I kinda just pronounced it the way it shouldn't.

but you know when people see Ch they make the sound and whatever end to it.I guess you gotta tell people it's pronounced with a K.

but it sounds like a boys name to me.

I also pronounced with a Ch. Its too late now, unless you are willing to pay money to change it. Thats why I thought and thought about names before I settled with naming my kids.

Yes -- I also read it as "Ch"yler when I was reading your question. I do see it more as a masculine name though, not feminine. If it bugs you, I could suggest maybe going with his middle name. I mean, at this point, I don't know how old your child is -- so it might be too late to make a major change like that...but if they're still a baby, you might get away with doing that.
